Sights in easy reach of Bangkok

  • Ayutthaya, the ancient, yet modern, city is around 90 km from Bangkok. The former capital of Siam boasts amazing temples and palace ruins.
  • Kanchanaburi, the home of Thai blue sapphires and where the Burma Railway was built.
  • Erawan Waterfalls in the exquisite Erawan National Park. There are seven tiers of waterfalls with lovely, freshwater pools that you can swim in.

Beyond Bangkok

  • Surat Thani – beautiful islands of the South
  • Chiang Mai – the rapidly developing and beautiful city in northern Thailand. It was founded in 1296 and was a significant centre for pottery, carving and other arts. The city still retains its glory in the various art and crafts shops.
  • Hua Hin, the beautiful beach resort south of Bangkok.
