Your experience matters
The course is very informative and the trainer is very experienced. Learning how to evaluate speaking performance from a Cambridge examiner gives you insights into what learners are really required to demonstrate in a test.
Highly recommended if you teach examination classes like Cambridge Starters, Flyers and Movers. Very useful tips on activities for speaking practice and development that will help learners in the actual exam.
Before the course I thought that practising speaking skills was just about having role-plays and playing games. I was quite wrong and learning about sub-skills was a real revelation. I now understand speaking much better and I’m able to design effective speaking activities.
It gets quite technical when it comes to assessment criteria, and I think that’s a good thing. Teachers need to be familiar with common descriptors of competence and should make them their long-term objective. I really enjoyed this course and I would highly recommended to anyone who need to prepare children for international examinations.
