If you are an inexperienced or relatively new teacher of English and would like to brush up on your own knowledge of English grammar, the IH Bangkok Grammar Refresher course will provide you with a foundation on which to build your language awareness as you start teaching. It is particularly useful for participants of CELTA courses, either prior to or following the course.
The IH Bangkok Grammar Refresher course is designed to enable participants to:
- Improve knowledge of basic structures and terminology of grammar from a teaching perspective, with task types and techniques which translate practically into the classroom.
- Prepare CELTA candidates for the both the content as well as the environment and context of the course, as it will be on the same premises, with some of their trainers and peers.
There will be six sessions over two days focusing on the following:
- Basic terminology
- An overview of tenses
- Modals and conditionals
- Identifying and dealing with errors in meaning
- Identifying and dealing with errors in form
Mode of assessment
The certificate is awarded to participants who have followed the course, with no grading of coursework.
This is a two-day course, from 9:00-15:00 at our Bangkok premises. These are run on the Thursday and Friday prior to the start of a CELTA course.
